Doesn’t that sound nice, a steadfastness? James doesn’t just tell us to count trials as joy, but that it is a testing of our faith the produces steadfastness as well. Trust me when I say it won’t be easy but also trust me when I say that with God, all things are possible. But my sister, that is exactly what we must do. Right now, stuck in the muck and nasty of whatever pit you have fallen into it is almost impossible to look around and see joy in the trial. And then, maybe you seek some Christian counsel on the trial you are facing and you find in the bible that it says to count it joy?! No? You haven’t done that? Yeah me either. How many times have you started experiencing trails and thought…. “Count it all joy my brethren, when you face trials of many various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.” James 1:2-3 James 1:2 I lost people I love and I had to learn tough life lessons but in my trials my faith was never really tested. My life was not perfect, but it could have been a lot worse. My family wasn’t rich but we certainly weren’t poor. In my life I had never really had to wait or want for much. But in our hurry up and move on world, God sometimes asks us to really pump the brakes, slow down, and do some of that thing we all hate- wait. If overnight we all had to have dial-up internet again I think people might literally die. My generation has pretty much never had to wait on anything. I don’t know about you but I really hate waiting. My website being down was frustrating, but there was so much going on in my life at the time that I just had to set it aside and take a step back and wait. When I realized the site was back up and going I thought to myself, “Self, what should you post about this weekend?” Awhile ago I had written a post on waiting and this seemed like an appropriate time. I had no idea how to fix it! But now we seem to be back up and running and I hope we don’t have any more bumps in the road for the foreseeable future. I have been REALLY quiet over here for awhile and I apologize! I do not claim to be computer savvy at all and my website was temporarily not working for awhile.
